William Miniature Mohair Teddy Bear Kit. A jointed teddy bear kit by Make A Teddy to make a 4 inch/10 cm teddy bear.
A sewing kit to make a traditional heirloom mohair fully jointed teddy called William who is a sweet little bear , a gentle , friendly soul who will keep you or a loved one company wherever you go as he will fit in your bag or pocket. He loves sitting on a cotton reel if you have one!
The Schulte 11mm pile mohair ( called Singed Cookie from Makeateddy ) included in the kit is a sparse pale grey with black fine hairs interwoven with it on a pale gold backing making him vintage looking.
There are 12 pages of detailed instructions including diagrams and a reusable pattern. The seam allowance is included and a layout plan .. .
Also included are a 3mm black glass pair of eyes on loops, extra strong yellow thread to sew up openings after stuffing & inserting eyes and black thread for embroidering the nose and mouth and five cotter pin joints. The pads are made from the mohair…either use the wrong side or clip the mohair short.
You will need a small amount of polyester stuffing, ( your cushion or pillow has far more in it that it needs!) ordinary sewing needle and matching or a neutral shade of sewing thread. Sharp sewing scissors, fine pen or soft pencil, a haemostat/ forceps, a chopstick or similar stuffing tool, an awl or sharp pencil for making eye/joint holes with and a piece of card such as a cereal packet for the pattern.
The kit is nicely presented in a box which will be wrapped in grey polythene and sent large letter post Royal Mail Tracked 48. Ideal for gifting…please ask for a gift tag printed from one of Andy’s drawings.
The bear himself is mine! He is not included in the kit! The reel of thread shown in the photos isn't included in the kit either, that's just to give a sense of size.
Please note that this kit makes an adult collectible (ornament) and should not be used to make a child's toy.
